Today my husband received a called from 64387414, Mr M told him that 25 married couple was selected to win 3 gifts and we are one of it. He talked so much to my husband, but my husband not clear what he was talking about. So, my husband asked me to call back this number to check.

When I called in, there is a lady picked up the phone. I asked her what company is this. She told me that they are advertising firm. He said the person incharge was on the line and will call back me later.

Okielor..then wait him to call back lo. Just 10 minutes later, he called me back and we started the conversation :)

Mr M: Hi, are you Mr Lim’s wife. How are you. What do you want to know about?
Me : Ya, I heard my husband said that you got what what free gifts..Can you explain again?
Mr M: Okie, first of all..Let me tell you more about the gifts first….

He talked so much and so fast!!! Fast untill you will think that he was trying to hide something behind. Anyway, I have summarized 3 gifts that he said : “Promise will give”.

1) $1000 gift voucher – No term and condition, no expiry date. You can buy whatever thing you want.
2) Free 1-for-1 cruise.
3) 8D7N 5 star resort at Bangkok. Can stay up to 5 peoples.

Me: So, what we need to do to redeem the gifts?
Mr M: What you need to do is go down to The Regency, Level 3 tonight 8 pm. I will meet you there.
Me :What we going to do there? Did we need to sign up anything?
Mr M: Oh, nono, we wont sell anything and bring you go any seminar. Actually our client called sponsor-KDI. You heard about NATAS. It just same but is new one. They are having a travel fair.
Me: What’s company lai! I search google also dont have!
Mr M: Oh, because is a new setup company. So, you wont find it in google.
Me: Okie, then what we going to do? Just visit the fair that’s all?
Mr M: Ya, I will brief you and bring you around to checkout the travel package. It took around 1 and half hour. If you dont want sign any package. You still can redeem your gift. Dont worry.
Me: Sure or not. “This world dont have free lunch” wan wor.
Mr M: Sure Sure… My friend also redeem last year and he bought a MP3 during christmas.
Me: Can I know what is your company name.
Mr M: My company name is called DI-Infinity advertising company.
Me: How come I cant search from google also. No website wan ar?
Mr M: Ya. We are new and we just setup with KDI. Both website are under construction.
Me: What? Under construction? Then how come your friend last year got redeem gift already. So long already, still under construction??? You dont bluff me la..
Mr M: Sure sure, why need to bluff you. We are having promotion and you are lucky to win these.
Me: How do you know we are married?
Mr M: Oh, last month your husband has participated a survey. So, we selected from there.
Me: This redemption due date when? Must come today? Today I got appointment, not free.
Mr M: Until Sunday. If you come today or tomorrow, we will give you additional voucher 588 for bla bla bla. If you want you let me know. I told my supervisor to prepare the gift.
Me: What! Just 3 pieces of paper need to preparE?
Mr M: O..because we need to get approval ma.
Me: Let’s me think first. Tomorrow only decide. Tonight I am going to discuss with my husband.
Mr M: Okok. Tomorrow morning I will call you to confirm.
Me: OK. Bye.

Then I just go google search and see “DI-Infinity…” or KDI??? What also dont have. Then, I try to type “The regency + dhoby ghaut” and I found a forum has discussed about this matter. Please click on image below if you felt interested to read through the forum.

Oh, the trick that Mervin used is exactly same as the conversation above. Opps. Then I only realized this is a scam call x_X. Alamak!Wasting my time talking to him. However, I still felt curious want to know what is his next trick while we go The Regency, level 3. Luckily the forum has shared out what will happened if you go to The Regency, level 3. I just write down the summary here. The rest you can read from the forum. There were several similiar cases happened.

***below is one of experience from a victim who going down to The Regency, level 3***
Well, after going down, the presentation lasted 1.5 hrs, with a room full of presenters and clearly agitated FREE GIFT questers (me included sowwy.gif )After they failed to psycho me into subscribing into their holidaying system, I was led to the front counter by the now SOUR face presenter (darn! she was SOOOO nice when we first arrived, said my wife looks young, my kids looks cute… )

Then, after waiting for almost 45minutes (me and all 20-30 other individuals), we were presented with a coupon to SELF COLLECT a home theatre system??!!??

I asked where’s the lucky dip I was promised? They said they have already Pre-DRAWN the price for me!!! HAHAHAAH, so that’s it!

And to add insult to injury, we have to go to some ulu ulu place to collect the home theatre system, and
PAY $50 for HANDLING charge !!!

SO, now you have it! the answer to the scam, how they trick people, and was/IS able to make all kinds of PROMISE/GUARANTEE without emptying their pockets…

Fact is the home theatre system is a crappy brandless pile of crap you can buy in parsar malam for less then $50!
*******************

To all my readers here, please be aware and be careful on those scam telemarketer. They will have a lot tricks and techniques to psycho you :D . Luckily we found this forum, Thus, I am not sure tomorrow I will go down or not and get cheated by them =.=”’.

Me: You still want to bluff me?
Mr M: Why I want to bluff you. If bluff you, then next time you also wont visit to the travel agency also right? It caused bad reputation also.
Me: Wah.. you still talk this to me. Can you go google and check the forum. How bad reputatation your company is? What $1000 gift voucher…$50 pay for the charging fee got la!

After few weeks break, we were sent to Hong Kong again for 2 months. Everyday, we were just busy working until no day no night. We knew that Weini was going back to Singapore on April. Thus, we just went out with her to Kowloon Island.

We took Star Ferry (天星小轮) from Hong Kong Island to Tsim Sha Tsui. Weini and I.

On the way travel from Hong Kong Island to Kowloon Island.

Today the weather was so foggy.

We cant see anything at all.

We were attracted by the view outside especially view of Hong Kong Island.

Do you see the clock tower? We are heading to this place.

Er.. the weather was turned better. We can see the building clearly now. This place was called Tsim Sha Tsui.

This is the ferry we took. When people travel from Hong Kong Island to Kowloon Island. They will call this as “Goh Hoi” 过海. It means cross over the sea.

Former Kowloon-Canton Railway Clock Tower (前九鐵路鐘樓).

Clock Tower, Hong Kong
The Clock Tower is a landmark in Hong Kong. It is located on the southern shore of Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. It is the only remnant of the original site of the former Kowloon Station on the Kowloon-Canton Railway. Officially named Former Kowloon-Canton Railway Clock Tower (traditional Chinese: 前九廣鐵路鐘樓), it is usually referred to as the Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower (traditional Chinese: 尖沙咀鐘樓) for its location.

Built out of red bricks and granite, the Clock Tower peaks at 44 metres, and is topped by a 7-metre lightning rod. The top of the tower can be reached by a wooden staircase located within. The interior of Clock Tower had previously been open for visit, but is currently closed for maintenance. The clock tower is located near Victoria Harbour at the foot of Salisbury Road. Another landmark, the Tsim Sha Tsui Ferry Pier, is located nearby.

The tower has been listed as a declared monument in Hong Kong since 1990.

If the weather not so foggy. We might see the beautiful view of Hong Kong Island from here.

We stopped by at the popular dessert stall “Xu Liu Shan” to take dessert. When we went to upstair to find the seat. We saw this funny thing. Weini and I will hit the wall if we walked straight.

Tam Chiak #3 – Weini!

At first I planned to combine this post with part 2 but got 40 more photos oh. Thus I separated it to Part 3.

Before I started my story, just give a thank you speech to Fenny << Fenny, thanks so much for your valentine's gift. It was so touch when receive it. Although just a rose but it represent your heart to us. You are really such a caring and sweet friend :) >>

After 2 weeks war, finally we gave ourselves one day REST!!! A day without thinking of work. Weini, Fenny and me were planning to go to Central, Stanley Market and Mong Kok (旺角) area. Our main activity of today is shopping!

While walking to Central, we passed by a very popular temple (文武庙) in Hong Kong Island.

Sometimes, Fenny and I came to the temple for praying. What we pray lei, we pray that everyone was healthy, happy. We also prayed that our project went smoothly :D No kidding ya. Sometimes it works after pray :P Believe or not up to you lar!

Hollywood Road (Antique street) 古董街

Why called antique street? Because 90% of the shops along this street was selling antique!

One of the big antique shop.

Can you imagine that Hong Kong island land land is not enough. All the condominiums looked so pack within each other and each condominium has so many level lei!

We called this tram “Ding Ding” because when the passenger want to stop, they will press the bell and the sound is “Ding Ding”, “Ding Ding”. Cute tram :)

In Hong Kong Island, there was a popular street called Stanley street. You will see a lot of stalls along the small lane.

We passed by here every morning while walking to work.

You will see a lot of tall building over here.

You will also see busy traffic during peak hours.

Hong Kong MATA (Police) 香港警察

We reached Central. In Hong Kong, most of the time people will take train, tram, bus, and taxi if they want to go somewhere! Besides taking those public transport, they will just walked.

I thought bamboos were just used during my grandfather’s time. How come I still can find it here! Can tahan bo? So worried when passed by those building which used Bamboo to support only =.=”’

So many restaurants.

Before we reached Mong Kok (旺角), we stopped by Sham Shui Po (深水步地鐵站) station. We went to Apliu Street (鴨寮街). A street which sell alot electric stuffs.

Weini :)

After this, we went to Mong Kok. We stopped at Mong Kok station. From here, you can go to a lot places such as Woman street(女人街), flower garden street(花园街), pet street(宠物街), sport shoe street(波鞋街).
You can see alot of things as mention in the street name. E.g. You can find alot of pets in pet street(宠物街).

Then we follow exit D2.

Can you see how crowded of Mong Kok?

What to wait. Is time to Shopping! We went to Argyle Centre and Mong Kok New Town Mall. There were so many shops selling boots *I guess so because going to end of winter*. Then I went to one of the shop that most of the boots just cost HKD100 per pair. Weini told me that the price here can be considered cheap. In Malaysia, it cost you around HKD200 per pair. So, I bought one. Remember to buy 2, because I was regret now. I was going to Melbourne in winter time. I need boots. I try to search from Malaysia. It cost about RM100 per pair x_X. Sien ^^

I wore my new boot immediately because I believe I will just keep inside the drawer after going back to Singpore because Singapore no winter time la. So hot, how to wear? By the way, very soon.. I will have the chance to wear it during my MELBOURNE trip lo :)

First time I wear boot. Got “Yau Yeng” bo? Hehe ^^

A very popular dessert stall in Hong Kong. The shop name called Xu Liu Shan (许留山). When you go Hong Kong, remember must try this especially mango dessert, okie? It was really delicious and tasty!

Let’s try the fish ball first. Just so so only oh :P

From Weini’s expression, looked like trying to tell us that the fish ball is so hard and so difficult to bite it!

It was so tired after a whole day walk and shop. But I felt so enjoy today but the happy moments always passed very past. Is time to go back la :) Go back to pack my thing as well because tomorrow we will fly back to Singapore.

Supposedly today I was celebrating together with my hubby at Bali. But what to do? I have no choice! This is so called working life. Although we failed to go Bali, but I gain 2 weeks experience working in Hong Kong. Give and take theory always happened in our real life. We must think positive always! K?

My story was not ended yet, part 1, 2, 3 just a 2 weeks business trip. It just a short period, our energy still can be recharged back after back to Singapore. But we were asked to go Hong Kong again on March! This time not 2 weeks but 2 months =.=””” Oh No!!! I have a Hong Kong trip with PS on 1st of May. How? Cancel or not? Should I say No to Boss? If you were me, what will you do??? Let’s guess and see do I cancel my Hong Kong trip? To be continued…

You may wish to read part 1 before continue this second part.

What I want to share is about our second week in Hong Kong :) My face looked so tired hor. We were going for lunch now.

Our lady boss brought us to a famous goose rice restaurant but I have forgotten what the restaurant called already.

Da Dang~ Roasted Goose rice 鹅脾饭. In cantonese we called “O-Bei-Fan”. I miss it :D . It really taste good especially when the goose meat mix with the sour plum sauce ~ Yum Yum

After lunch, we visited to this building – The Centre – 中环中心. Actually Fenny went to 3rd floor to meet client before. So lucky of her :D

Inside the building.

The design looked class right?

Outside the building.

I like the background.

This logo looked familiar right? Ya, is DBS Hong Kong bank.

Alot people looked at us lei, so paiseh :P

The next day. We repeated the same thing – Wake up, work, lunch, work, dinner, OT, sleep.

This is the restaurant that we planned to have our lunch.

But.. There was a long queue. Bei tahan~

Thus, we just went to another restaurant. Before that, let’s too a picture with this nice aquarium first.

Hehe, where we go nei? We went to this “To Yuen Noodle – 桃园潮州粥面” Restaurant. Just opposite our office. The address : 香港皇后大道中138号.

As usual, I will order my favourite food – Fish dumpling noodle – 鱼饺河粉! The cheapest food in town area here ya. It cost 19HKD per plate. In Hong Kong, food very expensive. Normally one plate of food cost around 30HKD.

We also ordered fried fish skin (炸鱼皮) – HKD19 per plate. Taste good also, can try.

Okie, back to work ~ This is our working area.

We are trying to tell you.The most earliest time we can go back is 9 pm, mean today. And we are so tired like a dying fish after that!

Fenny still looked energetic. Only she can stand till so late everyday! We are not as strong as her lor!

During our dinner time, we saw this Bak Kut Teh restaurant! The founder is from Malaysia – Klang Hokkien Society! No kidding oh… Hong Kong also can find Malaysia Bak Kut Teh leh! So, we decided to try it out. Er… Overall…I still prefer original Klang Bak Kut Teh from Malaysia!

Sometimes, we also have our dinner at this hawker centre. The food not bad just the environment dirty abit.

This is their menu.

In conclusion, our business trip – 90% WORKING life. I am not sure how’s other business trip lar. For us, we just work non-stop. non-stop and non-stop. most of the weekend, also need to work. If you felt tired, stress, unhappy, still need to work. You have no choice. However, I learnt alot here. This is one of the good experience in my life. All these already became a history.Over already. Most of the unhappy thing already forgot and only remember happy memories. So, when think back, I will felt memorable and smile in heart. How about my teammates if you see my blog about our hong kong business trip? Do you feel the same?

More to blog at here but I felt so tired now. Thus, take a rest. Maybe tomorrow I will continue post about how I celebrate my valentine’s day at Hong Kong! See you.. Good night :)
