Continue from my previous blog, let’s start my year 090808 one day trip in Sydney, Australia!

Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, is Australia’s oldest and largest city with a population of around 4 million. Sydney is built around a huge harbour and hosts many tourist attractions as well as a number of beaches, bays and a couple of national parks.[Source from www.australianexplorer.com]

During my business trip, Jaynee and CY also came to Sydney, Australia. They met up with me a day before and stayed together with me :) . Then, tomorrow morning we will go to Paddy’s market together.

The next day, we wake up early and from Four Season Hotel, we walked to Circular Quay train station.

It services almost all of the lines on the CityRail network, and is the major terminus for interurban and interstate rail services. Central Station houses the operations of New South Wales Railways. Central sits beside Railway Square and is officially located in Haymarket. Central is the station closest to the University of Technology Sydney at Broadway. The Sydney Opera House was completed in 1973 and was designed by Joern Utzon. The first public performance being Prokofiev’s ‘War and Peace’, and the acoustics are fabulous. From outside the Sydney Opera House looks remarkable and if you get up close you will be able to see several of the million or so ceramic tiles which cover the Sydney Opera House shells. Nice?
Sydney Australia

Bondi Beach is about one kilometre long and receives many visitors throughout the year. Surf Life Saving Australia has given different hazard ratings to Bondi Beach in 2004. While the northern end has been rated a gentle 4 (with 10 as the most hazardous), the southern side is rated as a 7 due to a famous rip current known as the “Backpackers’ Express” because of its proximity to the bus stop, and the unwillingness of tourists to walk the length of the beach to safer swimming. The south end of the beach is generally reserved for surfboard riding. Yellow and red flags define safe swimming areas, and visitors are advised to swim between them.
