During CNY, I was not able to meet up with any friends. Because I didnt stay at Anson anymore. But I missed the gathering moment. Thus, I asked my hubby to stopped by Anson for a while before back to KL.
We gathered at Bey’s house. I arrived around 2 pm. We only have around 1 hour plus to meet up because I need to rush to KL to attend my cousin’s open house. Although just 1 hour but already meant alot for me

My hubby and I at first just planned to have dinner with friends at City Square’s Kim Gary. But we are informed that A big even was held at Johor City Square! This event called JB-Chingay. In mandarin called “柔佛古庙游神”. So, we decided to stay back to watch this show
This JB-Chingay event will be held every first month of lunar new year.
We were lucky to because we were able to join this event tonight.
Before the event was started. There was an exihibition about this JB-Chingay event at the City Square main hall.
So, I try to take some photos of the posters and share with you all in order to let you have more pictures about JB-Chingay event.
Around 9pm, the road outside the City Square was crowded with people.

While waiting, we saw fireworks too.
Around 1015pm, the JB-Chingay event was started!
Too bad I didnt bring camera. Thus, I use my hubby’s Sony ericson to take photo. This is the best quality of photo I can provide

古廟遊神前奏‧“洗街”訓令妖魔迴避
(柔佛‧新山）柔佛古廟遊神管委會週四（3月4日）早上率領50餘名隊員，在新山市區依循遊神路線展開“洗街儀式”，全長10公里。
按照民俗，洗街是為了洗淨大地的穢氣，昭告神明即將出遊，訓令各方妖魔鬼怪需暫時迴避。
週四為農曆正月19日，是古廟遊神的前奏──“洗街儀式”舉行的日子。
參與遊神人數達20萬
在“洗街”之後，正月20日的“聖駕出鑾”，古廟所供奉的五尊神明將乘坐神轎，由善信們從直律街的柔佛古廟抬遊至設於義興路的行宮，並在行宮停駐。
到了正月21日的夜晚，五尊神明將巡遊新山市區，為地方上的人民帶來平安。每年的這一晚，來自各地的華裔善信必舉香或合十祈求神明保佑，並觀賞遊神隊伍中的精彩舞龍舞獅及其他民俗表演，人數達20萬人之多。
正月22日為“聖駕回鑾”的日子，五尊神明由善信抬返柔佛古廟。隨著柔佛古廟遊神盛會的結束，新山人的“新年”這才真正過完。
週四進行的洗街儀式從週四早上11時開始，直至下午1時結束，為時2小時。
柔佛古廟管委會50餘人週四早上從古廟浩浩蕩蕩出發，領隊的是柔佛古廟管委會主席林剛榮，其他同行的隊員尚有：管委會副主席陳道宜和葉沅明、管委區殖冠、古廟遊神活動總策劃陳聲洲等人。
隊員鳴鑼潑洒“聖水”
隊伍領著印有“新山中華公會指定第一大隊──柔佛古廟管委會”字樣的大旗，在前方“帶路”，後方跟著50餘名隊員以及手推車，手推車上載著聖水、鹽、米和茶葉等灑淨用品。
手推車上掛著一條長長的紅布和兩盞燈籠。紅布上寫著“柔佛古廟聖駕出遊”，至於兩盞燈籠則各別寫著“國泰民安”和“風調雨順”。
此外，置於手推車後方的四面“木牌”，兩面牌寫著“柔佛古廟元天上帝”，另兩面則分別寫著“肅靜”和“迴避”。
一路上，隊員們不停地鳴鑼，以及用石榴葉和柚葉沾上“聖水”，然後潑洒到街上。在這同時，隊員們也把已摻合的鹽、米及茶葉撒往地上。
在今日的洗街，隊伍們從古廟出發，途經直律街、義興路、敦阿都拉薩路、行宮、烏魯亞逸摩力路、耶耶亞哇路、亞逸摩力路、依布拉欣支路、依布拉欣路、黃亞福街，最後再回到直律街的古廟。
繞行神轎停駐處一圈
洗街路線與聖駕出遊的路線大致相同，唯一不同的是，前者的隊伍最後是回到古廟，而眾神夜遊時，五尊神明最後是回到行宮。
須特別一提的是，週四，當隊伍來到行宮時，也特地繞行神轎即將停駐的地方一圈，其用意是在神明尚未來此“居住”之前，先為神明“洗淨”此處。
林剛榮：聖水化有一神符
柔佛古廟管委會主席林剛榮受訪時表示，洗街隊伍所潑洒的聖水，裡面化了一張柔佛古廟的神符。
林剛榮說，公路上時常發生車禍，會有“不乾淨”的東西，隊伍們用柚子葉和石榴葉沾上聖水噴洒街道，是為了清除這些不淨之物，同時，也昭告神明即將出遊，訓令各方妖魔鬼怪須迴避。
他說，在洗街儀式中，隊員們也拋洒米、鹽和茶葉，以去除“不淨”。
搭奉祀台迎接神明
早年居住在義興三巷的百餘名村民每年都會在義興路籌資搭設“奉祀台”，這個村落後來被迫遷，村民們雖已不住那兒，但每年都會自發性地組織迎神會，在村落當年的路口，即義興路靠近綿裕亭外的大路旁搭建一個古廟迎神會的奉祀台。
週四上午，義興三巷迎神會組織也在奉祀台這兒準備了米粉、粥和飲料，以招待途經此處的“洗街”隊伍。
義興三巷迎神會主席許宗南透露，在過去30年裡，每次遊神盛會來臨之前，村民們都會組織迎神會，搭起臨時的奉祀台，以迎接神明的到來。他說，村民們風雨不改，為的是祈求平安。
“洗街”後必下雨
新山的柔佛古廟遊神盛會，“洗街”之後天必下雨。
這是新山老一輩市民的共同認知。
多少年來，古廟眾神夜遊盛會的前夕，“洗街”是掀開盛會的前奏儀式；其義意在於“灑淨”。
就是那麼巧合，每次洗街之後，老天總會撒下雨水。有時是頃盆大雨，有時是“意思，意思”落下數滴；總之是有那麼一點“巧合”。
週四上午，古廟管委成員進行了洗街儀式，週四下6時許，新山的市民迎來了老天爺降下的頃盆大雨。
這場大雨，掃除了連日來的酷熱，讓大家在眾神巡狩之前，有一顆清涼的心。

My mother-in-law taught me how to make fishball. I put the step here so that in future when I really have chance to make fishball I can refer back.
Main ingredients : Fish meat, salt, ajinomoto, cold water.
Step of making fishball
1. Chop the fish meat into small pieces. Add some salt and ajinomoto. How much to add lei? PS’s mom said “Agak Agak”. Mean just estimate it
2. Use the mixer to stir the fish meat until the fish meat stick together.
3. Rub the fish meat by hand. The cold water was added spoon by spoon. Dont add too much or too little water. This is very important step to make sure the fish ball is crunchy ~
4. I am not sure how to describe this step here. I only can show you the picture. So, you refer to the picture and try it ba See, ps’s mom use hand press – > A round fish ball was made. Cute right! Hehe ^^
I believe this is not easy lor.
5. Use a spoon to take the fish ball so that it wont run out of shape.
6. Put the fish ball into the cold water. I have forgotten what’s the reason already 
7. Take out the fish ball from the cold water.
8. Arrange it into a plate. See, the fish ball’s size was just consistent. My mother-in-law skillful right?
2 plates of fish ball can be made within an hour.
8. To cook the fish ball very easy. Boiled the water. Put the fishball into the boiling water for 5 – 10 minutes.
Fishball is ready to eat!
The fishball taste good. When you bite it, you will feel the crunchy Dont know how to describe

PS’s father was changing the net. He said when the season change, they will need to change net too. Because different season catch different kind of fish. Different kind of fish need different kind of net.

The steamboat was prepared during chinese new year. So that when any guest visit, the steamboat can be served immediately. I tried the steamboat, my sisters and brothers also tried. Everyone ‘Thumbs up’! Yummy and delicious~

On the 3rd day of Chinese New Year, we have our dim sum breakfast at Kim Chew mom’s restaurant – 华州, the only one Dim Sum restaurant at Tanjung Piandang.
In cantonese, we called “luo mai gai” 糯米鸡. It was yummy and delicious.
Whole table of Dim Sum ~ The dim sum I like the most is “Chai Kuih” 菜粿. For us, we call “Teoh Chew kuih”. My father and family like to eat as well. They normally went to the dim sum restaurant at JAWI to have this “Chai Kuih”

There are two type of “chai kuih” – In teochew we called “Gu Cai Kuih”.
“Mang Guang Kuih”.
Because of chinese new year peak season, we were required to queue up in order to get the dim sum ~ Although Long Q but worth to wait. See, we get so much “Chai Kuih” again!

We reached home and Amber said: “We have a fun time today!”. Really want to say thank you to my father-in-law for giving us such a great experience. Especially for kids who stay in city and for us who working in busy city.
After experiencing the boat ride, my nieces and nephew tried the tricycle ride.

Steamboat dinner was prepared by my mother-in-law. So many choice of foods Yummy Yummy!
Everyone was starting for the steamboat dinner.

I combined day 4 in this blog because I do not have any special activity on this day. What we did is watch movie, eat, rest . But below have some photos which taken by my brother. Who are them?
