Nian Gao, can be called as Year cake or Chinese New Year’s cake. You will see alot Nian Gaos during Chinese New Year, and you can eat Nian Gao throughout the whole year! Here’s the picture how the Nian Gao looks like. This Nian Gao was made by my mother-in-law.

Normally my mom will fry the Nian Gao for us ^^ But this time If I want to eat, I have to fry it myself
**Sob Sob** No worry, I can just gave my mom a call and ask for the recipe! You may feel curious why dont I just search the recipe from internet?Hoho… you dont know? Because I miss the Nian Gao which my mom fried for us always! So miss it!
Below are the steps and some ingredients needed. I just made a simple fried Nian Gao first. If success, next time will fry the Nian Gao with the sweet potato and yam ![]()
Ingredients:
Nian Gao, Plain flour, 1 egg, water… if you ask me how much of flour or water needed. Sorry ya, I do not have anything to measure it. I just “agak-agak”

1. Cut Nian Gao into small slice.
2. Pour the egg into the flour and add some water.
3. Whisk all the ingredients until it becomes smooth.

My friend has brought us to Laksa Steamboat Seafood Restaurant (叻沙火窝海鲜餐馆) which located at Telok Blangah Road. First time I heard about laksa steamboat. At first I thought it was Penang style Laksa …Opps, I was wrong! In Singapore, Laksa mean Katong Laksa.
