Chinese New Year Eve

Chinese New Year eve in chinese called “Chu Xi Ye” 除夕夜. Most of the families will gather for a meal at night, which we called Reunion Dinner “Tuan Yuan Fan” 团圆饭. As usual, we had our families reunion at eldest brother’s house. We made it during lunch time so that my sister can join us as well. For us, breakfast, lunch, dinner is not an issue as long as all of us can gather and enjoy the time together :) . Before the meal start, everyone will busy for house decoration and preparing for the meal and me – busy taking photo!

We always started our meal with a special dish called “Yee Sang”. In chinese word, “Yee Sang” means raw fish. Most of the restaurants will use Salmon as main ingredient. All of us will use a pair of chopsticks and we will count 1, 2, 3! Then shout “Loh Ah Loh ah Loh ah, Loh for good career, loh for money, loh for healthy, loh for happiness”.

We will toss as high as possible so that your dream can come true as fast as possible :) . This called “Loh Sang” 捞生 la which means gathering prosperity. See, I am the one who toss the highest one… keke ^^
