2002 Bali bombings
The 2002 Bali bombings occurred on 12 October 2002 in the tourist district of Kuta on the Indonesian island of Bali. The attack was the deadliest act of terrorism in the history of Indonesia, killing 202 people, 152 of whom were foreign nationals, and 38 Indonesian citizens. A further 240 people were injured.
The attack involved the detonation of three bombs: a backpack-mounted device carried by a suicide bomber; a large car bomb, both of which were detonated in or near popular nightclubs in Kuta; and a third much smaller device detonated outside the United States consulate in Denpasar, causing only minor damage.
12 Oct 2009 was seventh anniversary of the devastating attacks. That’s why you can see some flowers in the photo because on that day was 10 November 2009, just 1 mth after the 7th anniversary.
The list of names were from 21 countries : Austrialia, Selandia Baru, Belanda, Denmark, Inggris, Italia, Jerman, Prancis, Portugis, Polanda, Swedia, Swiss, Yunani, Amerika Serikat, Brasil, Equador, Canada, Afrika Selatan, Jepan, Taiwan, Korea and Indonesia. (Guess so those countries name were written in Bali language). Sad feeling when saw this list of names.
A permanent memorial was built on the site of the destroyed Paddy’s Pub on Legian Street. (A new bar, named “Paddy’s: Reloaded”, was reopened further along Legian Street). The memorial is made of intricately carved stone, set with a large marble plaque, which bears the names and nationalities of each of those killed. It is flanked by the national flags of the victims. The monument is well-maintained and illuminated at night.

We reached Singapore around 1245 am. Once reached airport, my sister called and told me that Air Asia got promotion! Go Melbourne on mid of Jun round trip RM500++ per pax. Whole family will go!!! To arrange a family trip especially with father and mother, really not easy. Thus, I never think about money or time, just agree to her. Heard that Jun 2010 is the coldest time also =.=”’. So, recently need to save money to buy winter cloth and prepare expenses for Melbourne trip. Looking forward for my Melbourne trip in Jun 2010. Yeah ^^
p/s:
i) Remember bring sunblock and apply it! I didnt expect Bali so hot, so didnt apply any sun block. Thus, My skin become darket and burned .
ii) Remember dont finish spend all the money! You are required (Compulsory) to pay Rp150,000 each person for the TAX before departure.
